MTV Skins Episode Seven: A look back at what went wrong!

This is the American version of the teen drama. It is a adaptation of the British teen drama of the same name. The show premiered on January 17, 2011 on MTV in the U.S. and on Movie Central and The Movie Network in Canada. The original show was created by father-and-son television writers Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain for Company Pictures, and premiered on UK digital channel E4 on January 25, 2007. As with the UK series, the 2011 version features a cast of amateur actors and young writers.

On June 9, 2011, MTV announced that they would not renew Skins for a second season, with a statement that "Skins is a global television phenomenon that, unfortunately, didn't connect with a US audience as much as we had hoped," and I'm here to tell you why!

MTV's Skins is set in Baltimore Maryland and it's filmed in Canada.

Episode Four: Sharna


Sharna sat upon his throne as he looked at his failure of a team, he had already lost three monsters to the G-Force and was not happy. He was no closer to finding his wife's body and that irritated him almost as much. His beak was clenched closed as he kept his dark evil eyes upon his minions. He was weak from summoning golems, he had to find a way to summon them and use less magic or he had to become stronger. He knew if he found his wife, he would rule the universe. She had immense power, he wanted that power, he wanted to be in control of everything because Jemben; his brother already had more power.


It angered him every time he thought of Jemben, his brother that was beloved by their parents. Jemben was the younger brother that got everything. He got the looks and the power and this made Sharna bitter and angry. He hated the Light-Bringer, he would get the love he so desired when he killed his brother and his brother's warriors; The G-Force. He shrieked loudly as an aura of magic exploded off of him, he stood up and looked to one of his monsters. He grabbed at its neck, he snarled as he looked into it's one eye.


"You better do one of two things, find my wife or destroy the G-Force! If you fail me... I'll make you wish for death. You will beg for mercy because I will make sure they don't destroy you. I have plans for you if you fail me, do you understand?"


The creature nodded his head vigorously and disappeared. Sharna felt his power get lower, he almost fell to his knee but stood up. He waved his hand, a window formed it showed the monster appear on Earth and begin looking around. The monster summoned some golems, he was glad to have a strong monster for once, one that could control golems.

Episode 3: Leila


She looked into her mirror, she had very light brown hair and she puffed her lips out and giggled to herself. She was avoiding homework at all costs and her parents knew this and told her to get off the computer. It had been a few quiet days and she had been able to start her campaign for class president and Kieran was going to help her. He had been the best thing in her life, he was nice, funny and she couldn't help but love his red hair. She wore her new orange blouse, she loved the color and didn't care what Nestor said about them trying to stay incognito.


She looked down at her history homework and sighed, she hated history. She had already finished her English essay and her math homework and this was the last bit. She heard a ring and brightened up, it had to be Kieran. She ran down the stairs, with a large smile on her face and she opened the door and their stood her beau. She gave him a big hug and he returned the hug with a kiss on her lips. 


"Mom, I'm going out for a few hours. I have to prepare for the Student Council Presidential race!" She yelled and her her mom yell back in agreement.


She walked out the door, holding his hand  as they walked down the streets. They exchanged pleasantries, talked about school and the classes they had. Neither of them had their jetpacks, they had become accustom to nothing happening. She began to talk about her ideas for her posters and he nodded as he listened. He had never helped someone run for office but he loved how excited she was for it. 


"Do you think Sharna will do something?" Kieran asked her.


"He must be searching elsewhere, but why haven't we been alerted?" She asked him.


"We would have been alerted," He said as they reached a small dairy bar.


They went inside and she sat down as he went to order them some ice cream. He knew what she liked and he got his favorite kind, he loved waffle cones so he ordered as he also began to talk to the waitress who took his order.


"So how goes everything Sarah?" He smiled as he talked with her, he slipped her the money he owed.


"Well it would be best if you were working today but we are managing!" She laughed and then went to get his ice creams. She came back and as he took them, "Remember you have a shift tomorrow so try not to forget like last week."


"I said I was sorry for that, it was a bad day for me." He started to walk away.


"It was a bad day for all of us, Celestial Canyon won't be the same." She was talking about the day they had to save the city from an explosive monster.


There had been many deaths, Nestor's step father had been one of them and he has been distant for the past week. Kieran had forgot to go to work after saving the city and had to come up with an excuse. He hated lying but he had to. Lelia smiled as she saw him walk over.


"How's Sarah?" She said before taking a large bite of strawberry ice cream.


"She keeps busting my chops about the shift I missed." He chuckled as he took a bite of his blue ice cream.


Eli walked out from the backroom, he was holding a large cup and he was chuckling. He walked over to Lelia and Kieran.


"Sarah said you had stopped in, wanted to say hi," Eli said as he heard Sarah yell to him, "I told you I'm on break!" He yelled back and then smiled so the customers would look away.


Eli pulled up a chair, "Did either of you finish the History essay? I can't get the years straight on..."


"I'm going to be helping Lelia with that tonight, want to come over and study at my place? My parents don't mind if I have guests." Kieran told him.


"Uh yeah if I can ever finish up back there, I'll call you if I can't make it." Eli said, he drummed his hands on the table and quickly got up with his drink. He nodded as he walked away.


Kieran and Lelia waved and began to look out the window, they watched people pass them by and Lelia pointed to Momoko, she had just joined the track team and she was practicing today. She never saw them as she ran passed. Lelia's phone then chipped a popular song clip and she pulled it from her purse.


I'm stuck on this Geometry problem! :( HELP! -Alora


Lelia giggled as she read her text message, she got up as she started to call Alora. Kieran continued to eat his ice cream, he never noticed the blue dot on his nose. Everyone on the G-Force had stayed connected but Nestor. He was always off alone, and Kieran didn't like it, the leader was a loner that must be some sort of dramatic irony. Eli ran passed them yet again, he was gathering trays and he even ran passed a third time to collect the garbage. Kieran and Eli both did the same job so they rarely got to work together but one of them was going to switch positions but they hadn't decided who wanted to bread the seafood more.


 Lelia came back, she looked distraught. "I have to cut this short, Alora needs more help than I can do over the phone. She is going to pick me up, see you later babes?" She said sweetly as she gave him a kiss.


He nodded as she ran out, her ice cream sat on the table as it had started to melt. Guess he would have to eat them both.

Episode Six: Abbud

Tormented

Admittedly I don't watch too many horror movies but this one piqued my interest. Mainly because of the cast. The movie stars April Pearson (Michelle from Skins) and Larrissa Wilson (Jal from Skins.) But there are quite a few other actors, Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four, Beastly,) Demitri Leonidas (Doctor Who, Grange Hill, and a few other BBC shows,) Calvin Dean (The Dutchess, Sarah Jane Adventures,) Georgia King (The Dutchess, One Day,) Tom Hopper (Doctor Who, Merlin) and Tuppence Middleton (Chatroom, Bones.) Sophie Wu from my new favorite show The Fades is also apart of the cast.

Episode 2: Nestor


Nestor had walked around his new school, he wore his G-Force jet pack that was large enough to hold his school books. He felt like alone in this school, he had a New York accent and he wasn't blonde like a good chunk of the student base. Celestial Canyon High was very large and everyone had the west coast relaxed accent, it was such a paradigm shift from his old school. 


He had remembered his first day in his new town, he had become the new leader of the G-Force. Crimson Jet Warrior, what a silly name. At least he wasn't see doing his pose, he got to jump in to save the day. The power that had flown through him was intense, and even though he was now a super hero he had to stay hidden and he made sure to get rid of every red shirt he had. He didn't want to give off any signs of being one of the G-Force, he heard someone call him and when he looked up he saw his five other teammates and they all wore their G-Force colors.


"Damn fools!" Nestor said.


They all stuck out like sore thumbs, especially Kieran and Alora both wearing gaudy shiny Silver and Gold respectively. They gathered around Nestor and all talking happily.


"Hey, why are't you wearing red, bro?" Eli asked.


"Because I'm trying to be incognito, bro!" He replied bitterly.


"Psh! No one will question it, look at Superman, he just wore glasses! We can so get away with wearing these colors everyday!" Kieran said with a grin, his Boston accent was thick.


Lelia chuckled as she kissed Kerian's cheek, he wrapped his arm around her. Momoko had a purple flower in her black hair and she was also smiling.


"I hope we can handle, school, social lives, part time jobs and being super heroes." Momoko chimed up.


"You have a job? I have football, I don't have time for a job!" Eli said, "Then basketball in the spring, I have a scholarship for college after I finish high school."
