Skins: Series 6 Episode 10: A look back at British Teen Drama/Comedy.
Now if you have read the first review you know what this show is about if now, here it is! Quick overview to catch you up; Skins is a British series set in Bristol South West England, it revolves around a group of teens that are going through sixth form, (or Key Stage 5) is the final (optional) two years of secondary schooling when students are sixteen to eighteen years of age and normally prepare for their A-level examinations. The term is used for describing the final two years spent in a secondary school contrary to a sixth form college (UK use) where students start at age sixteen after leaving secondary school.
Episode 10: Everyone (Series Finale)
Plot: Mini is in the hospital, her baby is in jeopardy. Franky has run away to find out who her mother really is. The brother's Levan are fighting and decided to find her. Rich is still dealing with the loss of Grace and gets some great news. Alex is leaving and Liv doesn't know how to handle it! Will another character die? Will there be a cliffhanger? All this shall be answered now!
This review I won't be explaining the scenes like the others. I just want you to know how I felt.
Final Recap: The episode mostly focused on Franky finding her past and when we see she had a mother and sister; it's nice to know she has someone now. Leading up to this, we fear for Mini's baby, cry because Liv and Alex are going in different directions. I think instead of the episode title being Everyone it should have been Finale.
The episode deals a lot with Franky's abandonment issues that we saw in the previous episode. She has gone through hell and back only to find out at first about a dead mother. But as the episode goes on, we find out with her that her mother is alive. It was a nice surprise and I'm glad to see that she gets a happy ending. Having the brothers Levan reconcile after a tension filled season and neither of them with a girl really works. I think that they can move passed their past and maybe someday Franky will chose one of them if she hasn't already had someone better.
Seeing Alex leave is quite depressing, he was such a good character. Well from what we saw of him. He really brought the gang back together and fulfilled his duty so he left. Plus having Mini and Liv sort of move passed their problems was a nice addition. When Mini has the baby and we can see the happiness in both hers and Alo's eyes is such a wonderful scene. This episode had some brilliant mementos but Rich had some of the bets.
He got his celebratory dance scene after getting into university. We get him explaining to Matty that his forgiveness isn't needed but Matty needs to ask for forgiveness from Grace. We also get a nice Alo and Rich scene, plus the other guys. Near the end of the episode, during the main party, Rich is seen at the edge of the pool and it looks like he had fallen. But no he jumped in and had a nice tender moment in his imagination.
The reason I'm doing a short review is I plan to talk about this episode much later in a video.
The ending of Skins series 6 is the most positive ending, one of my favorite endings to ANY story. But it wasn't as cheesy. Well maybe a bit but for me it worked so well. Having Rich look up to the sky when he says goodbye was a great way to end the show. The first episode opened with Tony opening his eyes and having Rich say goodbye (to us) Grace. It's not that he if forgetting her, he is realizing that things may work out with the birth of baby Creevey.
And with that I cried like a baby... good bye Skins fans. I love you all that have read this. We went through a great journey! <3
